Kenneth A. Murphy is a nationally recognized litigator and trial lawyer with over 30 years of courtroom experience. Mr. Murphy is the consummate trial lawyer with courtroom experience in both state and federal courts. His practice experience includes the defense of product liability and other tort claims, including unfair trade practice and off-label promotion claims on behalf of pharmaceutical manufacturers and other commercial entities.  Mr. Murphy also has litigated and tried to verdict cases involving claims of professional malpractice, defamation, wrongful termination, premises liability and tortious interference with contract, in federal and state courts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. Mr. Murphy is often called upon to try bellwether matters on behalf of Fortune 50 companies.  He is nationally ranked by Chambers USA, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and was recognized by Best Lawyers as “Lawyer of the Year” Products Liability Litigation in 2021.  Mr. Murphy has written and lectured on various aspects of trial practice and commercial litigation.

Before joining TLG, Mr. Murphy was a partner at a national law firm, having served as Practice Group Chair (Products Liability), Managing Partner, Compensation Committee Member and Hiring Committee Member at various times during his tenure.  Mr. Murphy also was a long-time member, and former Chair, of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention.

A native Philadelphian, Mr. Murphy is a current board member of After-School All-Stars Philadelphia and Camden, a former Commissioner of the Philadelphia Housing Authority and a former Trustee of the Presbytery of Philadelphia.  Mr. Murphy has received numerous awards and accolades for his legal and public service to the community including the J. Austin Norris Award (Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia), Diverse Attorney of the Year (Legal Intelligencer), Renaissance Man Award (National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division). He is a member and former President of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia and an active member of Philadelphia Bar Associaiton.
