- Personal Injury Defense TLG represented Temple University in the jury trial of a negligence action brought by a patient who alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a veteran nurse. The jury rendered a complete defense verdict. [2007 CCP]
- Civil Rights Litigation Marcavage v. Bd. of Trs. of Temple Univ. of the Commonwealth Sys. of Higher Educ. No. 05-5521 , 232 Fed. Appx. 79; 2007 U.S. App. LEXIS 10273 (3d Cir. 2007). TLG represented Temple University in appeal of civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, alleging violations of Plaintiff’s First and Fourteenth Amendment rights and violation of the Pennsylvania’s Mental Health Procedures Act. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant. On appeal, Plaintiff alleged, inter alia, that the judge committed error by failing to recuse herself. The Third Circuit found no error and upheld the district court’s grant of summary judgment.
- Employment Discrimination Page v. Trs. of the Univ. of Pa., No. 06-1008, 222 Fed. Appx. 144; 2007 U.S. App. LEXIS 6738 (3d Cir. 2007) TLG represented the University of Pennsylvania at the District Court level and on appeal of an employment discrimination action alleging violation of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and race discrimination. The lower court granted summary judgment in favor of the University and the Third Circuit upheld the grant of summary judgment.
- Employment Discrimination Jacoby v. Arkema, Inc., Civ. Action No. 06-2339, 2007 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 74915; 19 Am. Disabilities Cas. (BNA) 1564 (E.D.Pa. 2007). TLG represented Arkema, Inc. in defense of a disability and age discrimination action brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. The court granted summary judgment in favor of Arkema on all counts.
- Employment Discrimination / Higher Education Law Cerol v. Temple Univ., Civ. Action No. 06-213, 2007 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 60056 (E.D.Pa. 2007). TLG defended Temple University in a denial of tenure case alleging retaliation based on a prior complaint of race and national origin discrimination and EEOC filing. The Court granted summary judgment in favor of Temple and dismissed the action in its entirety with prejudice.

The defense prevailed against plaintiffs’ 1) application to Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court for reconsideration of its decision upholding trial court’s grant of defendant’s motion for compulsory non-suit and 2) petition for allowance of appeal to Pennsylvania Supreme Court. - Employment Discrimination / Civil Rights Litigation TLG represented a university hospital in a suit brought by a former employee alleging racial discrimination. The case was dismissed on summary judgment. [1999 US District Court, ED PA]

- Personal Injury Defense TLG represented Temple Hospital in a negligent infliction of emotional distress case, premised upon anxiety associated with contracting an infectious disease after a needle stick. - Personal Injury Defense TLG defended a major university hospital system in connection with claim relating to personal injuries incurred as a result of a falling light fixture. A verdict was returned in favor of the defense.
- Personal Injury TLG represented a plaintiff in connection with catastrophic brain injuries resulting from a construction accident. The firm assisted in pre-trial proceedings, including expert retention, discovery and motions in limine. The claims were resolved in a multi-million dollar settlement entered into on eve of trial by plaintiff and multiple contractors and subcontractors.

CNA, Inc. – Handled post-trial and appellate proceedings in case involving insurance bad faith and novel issue as to whether a plaintiff is entitled to a jury trial on a common-law breach of contract claim for bad faith; the trial court entered judgment notwithstanding the verdict; the superior court reversed.
- Personal Injury TLG represented a 44-year-old single mother who was struck from behind while stopped at a red light. The plaintiff received a multi-million settlement.
