Michon Crawford is an associate in the Philadelphia office of TLG.  Ms. Crawford received her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College and her law degree from Boston University School of Law.  Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, including employment litigation, general liability, as well as contractual and commercial disputes.  In the realm of employment litigation, Ms. Crawford has prosecuted and defended employment discrimination actions and breaches of non-competition agreements.  During her career, Ms. Crawford has represented clients from a wide variety of industries, including higher education, financial services, healthcare, medical devices and nonprofits.

SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATIONS

• Feribee v. The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, February Term 2000, No. 03030 – Represented client in a premises liability case involving a shooting of a business invitee. Wrote successful motion for summary judgment on behalf of defendant where court dismissed plaintiff’s claims due to lack of foreseeability that shooting would occur.
• Francis v. Temple University – Of The Commonwealth System of Higher Education, Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, May Term 2007, No. 03766 – Represented educational institution and individual officers in a police brutality and negligent training and supervision case. Successfully tried matter to defense verdict.
• Motise v. Parrish, et al., United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Civ. Action No. 07-0569 – Represented educational institution in action filed by a former graduate student. Co-wrote successful motion for summary judgment dismissing negligence and breach of contract claims.
• Cooper v. The School District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, March Term 2004, No. 06336 – Represented educational institution in civil rights action involving a deceased high school student. Wrote successful responses in opposition to plaintiffs’ 1) application to Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court for reconsideration of its decision upholding trial court’s grant of defendant’s motion for compulsory non-suit and 2) petition for allowance of appeal to Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
• Smalls v. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Civ. Action No. 99-812 – Represented hospital in employment action brought by former employee alleging racial discrimination. Wrote successful motion for summary judgment dismissing employee’s claims.
